Monitoring Gift Account Balances

At the University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA)

Each department administrator can work with the Center for Advancement Contact Us [2] to monitor the status of UICA accounts. 

In the UI General Ledger

Gift accounts should be reviewed monthly utilizing the Transaction Detail Report (TDR) and other available online reports for appropriate expenses that meet donor intent.  All UI gift accounts should have a positive balance, funds at the UICA, or a promised allocation from a central unit (e.g. Provost Office) to cover expenses that have posted to a gift account.  There are exceptions and special circumstances that will need to be reviewed on a case by case basis.
