Research Activity Ramp-Down Necessitated by COVID-19 [1]
A notice from the Vice President for Research on ramping down research activities:
The rapid evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic has required the University of Iowa to accelerate its response to this unprecedented challenge. Earlier today, the university issued a statement [2] further restricting campus building access and activities.
With that in mind, and to protect the health and safety of our community, PIs must immediately prepare for all on-campus research to be ramped down to the greatest extent possible by close of business on Thursday, March 19, 2020. In effect, the research enterprise must shift to a state of hibernation and significantly minimize the presence of research personnel on campus.
For additional guidance, including a list of action items, how to handle salaries being charged to grants, remote access, and more, please see the full notice from J. Martin Scholtz here [3].
If you have any questions about the notice, feel free to contact OVPR at 319-335-2453. For questions specific to your college, please get in touch with your associate dean for research.
