April 15-18, 2018
Did you know that Iowa is the only state name that starts with two vowels? Or that Iowa is the only state with east and west borders completely formed by water?
And did you know that Iowa is one of three states where Region IV has not yet held the regional meeting? Make history with us as we bring our regional meeting to this state for the first time ever.
We will welcome Dr. Terry Wahls, a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Wahls has an incredible story of self-healing through proven research methods based on mitochondria, diet, and multiple sclerosis. She has received funding from Direct MS of Canada and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of America and greatly appreciates the support she receives from her very own research administrators each and every day.
Also, new this year, the Region will host a book club. Join us as we discuss The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. It is a compelling read that intertwines themes of privilege and power with scientific exploration resulting in critical insight into the world of human subjects and IRB protocols.
We look forward to seeing you there!
